As severe flooding cripples parts of Cornwall, the communities of Cumbria know only too well the heartache and devastation that heavy rainfall and flood waters bring.
A fundraising book containing more than 100 postcards written by celebrities has been launched and is now on sale with proceeds of the book going towards organisations which helped after the Cumbrian floods of 2009.
Cumbria Tourism’s ‘wish you were here’ went on sale on 15th November. With a special foreword from the Prince of Wales, this limited edition features handwritten postcards from Dame Judi Dench, Tess Daly and Jonny Wilkinson, some feature drawings, paintings and photographs but all describe what the writer loves most about the Lake District.
