Energy Performance Certificates
As from 1st August 2007 all homes with four or more bedrooms will require a Home Information Pack (HIP). Following on from this date, HIPs will be phased in as a legal requirement for all homes put on the market.
One element of the HIP is an Energy Performance Certificate.
This is a Certificate which confirms a building's asset rating based on its energy efficiency. The Certificate will give the building a rating from A to G. An 'A' rating shows it is very efficient whilst a 'G' rating is inefficient. The ratings will tell you current average costs for heating, hot water and lighting within the home as well as advice on how to cut costs with energy efficiency measures. The Certificate will also show the building's environmental impact by indicating its carbon dioxide emissions.
Brewster Associates have a team of qualified and accredited Energy Assessors who can provide Energy Certificates.
